How to keep co-parenting messages calm and clear
Practical tips for writing to the other parent: short, specific, and easy to look back on later.
Keep it about the kids
Stick to schedules, school, health, and money for the children. Leave old arguments out of it. A short message is easier to answer and easier to read later.
Be specific
Name the date, the time, the place, and what you need. "Can you pick up Maya at 5:30 PM Friday at school?" gets a faster answer than "Can you take her this weekend?"
Give a reply-by time
If you need an answer, say when. HomeTwo lets you mark a request with an answer-by time so neither of you has to guess.
Pause before you send
If you're upset, wait. HomeTwo has an optional tone check that points out heated wording before you send. You decide what to change.
Keep everything in one place
Texts, emails, and notes spread across apps are hard to find later. Keeping messages, the calendar, and expenses together makes it easier to remember what was agreed.
